Review: MUD – FIM Motocross World Championship (PS3)

MUD – FIM Motocross World Championship (MUD) is the most comprehensive videogame rendition of the sport that’s ever been delivered to its fans.

All three of the official circuits (MX1, MX2 and MXoN) are featured here, with each competition offering not only its authentic rosters, but impressively, its tracks as well: 84 riders, 32 teams, 16 nations and every single track from every circuit are all packed onto this one single disc – not to mention a truckload of licenses from the likes of Monster Energy, Rockstar, Kawasaki, Honda, KTM and many more. Most anything that fans could possibly ask for is all packed into this one title. Or is it? [Review Score: 3/5]

Review: Labyrinth Legends (PS3/PSN)

NavigateLabyrinthLegendsonPSNDecember18th

A Nintendo-like roguelike crawls its way onto the PlayStation Network.

Creat Studios is no stranger to PSN. In fact, they’ve got so many titles on Sony’s downloadable service that they’ve got their very own shelf within the digital store. FromSmash Cars to Mushroom Wars, they aren’t afraid to tackle new genres. With Labyrinth Legends, they’ve brought a cutesy top-down dungeon crawler to the service that brings a Nintendo-like offering along with it. While it definitely would fall under Nintendo’s “Seal of Approval,” it’s a few missteps short from the quality of Nintendo’s first party titles – meaning there’s still enjoyment to be found in these dark and err…charming dungeons. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus slices onto U.S. Vitas in February

ngs2p-05

Back in the early days of Vita’s launch, one thing that it didn’t have, was a lack of great games to play. But one of the early titles that slipped onto the portable quickly after release was Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus. In our 4.5/5 Star review here at Digitally Downloaded, our Editor-in-Chief, Matt S., had this to say:

“Chances are you’ve played this game before. You should have. It’s a great game. The real selling point here is the fact it’s portable. That may or may not be enough for you. It was for me, and I personally consider this to be the definitive version of the game.”

Swimming with papercraft sharks; An interview with Different Tuna’s founder, Gordon

Here at Digitally Downloaded, we recently got a chance to sit down with Different Tuna’s founder, Gordon, to talk about his charming indie title that recently made a splash on PSN, Derrick the Deathfin. We had ourselves a good ole time swimming around in the world’s very first underwater papercraft title and awarded it 4/5 Stars in our review. But inquisitive minds must know more and we’ve stirred up a few questions of our own for Different Tuna in the hopes to learn a little bit more about our toothy friend that lives under the sea.

Review: Ragnarok Odyssey (Vita); portable and social gaming done right

Ragnarok Odyssey is what the future of portable and social gaming should look like.

Let’s start this review off in the right way – shall we? I’ve struggled with how to write this review for a few days now, but I’ve decided that a review that tells you about Ragnarok Odyssey and how it isn’t just a Monster Hunter clone just isn’t going to fit the bill here. Why? Because what we have here is a game that has its fair share of flaws, but it’s also a title that gets things right that even the so-called “industry leaders” can’t seem figure out with all their focus groups. Review: Dokuro (Vita)

A creepy little skeleton trying to save a shimmering princess – is Dokuro the treat to fill our digital gaming goody bags this Halloween?

GungHo Online Entertainment has crafted a puzzle/platformer that would put a smile on the flesh of Tim Burton’s eerie face and it’s one that Vita owners should be paying attention to. Its recent release on PSN was likely overlooked by many, because of its premium price point of $19.99 USD, but you should know that Dokuro was indeed a full retail release in Japan and inside its digital coffin it’s got the bones (content) to warrant a price tag that doubles its asking price.

What’s Sony teasing to release on October 23, 2012?

Over the past few days, Sony has quietly slipped two new teaser clips onto the Internet that are produced in the same vein as last year’s Michael teaser, which instantly stirred excitement across the industry with its release.
